Abstract
A new method for the numerical calculation of the quasi 3D inviscid flow in turbomachinery is presented. In order to suit the complex blade geometries, nonorthogonal blade oriented coordinates are used. The frictionless flow is then described by the transformed stream function equation, which is solved by a second order finite difference scheme. A Francis runner was analysed numerically on the basis of this method. A comparison between computed and measured turbine power shows a good agreement. (A)
