Abstract

The nucleus 179Hf was studied with (n, γ), (n, e-), (d, p) and (d, t) measurements. A level scheme was established up to 2 MeV consisting of 56 levels including 245 secondary γ-transitions. Forty-eight levels have been grouped into rotational bands built on sixteen intrinsic states of both one-quasiparticle and vibrational character. The neutron binding energy was determined to be 6099.06 (10) keV.
