Abstract

Nowadays, most of the electronic consumer devices like televisions, PCs, routers and various chargers include a switching mode power supply (SMPS). In combination with this, an electromagnetic interference (EMI) line filter is always required to fulfill the standards and to ensure a correct operation. Therefore, facts like a high efficiency level, low costs and small construction sizes are always of paramount importance. This article compares four different filter stages in which a novel integrated inductive filter component is used. It combines discrete inductances into one component and creates a small, cost-effective and usable filter.
