Abstract

The ReO3 group is retained during the [3+2] cycloaddition of diphenylketene to the trioxorhenium(VII) compound 1; the metallacycle 2 precipitates in the form of violet crystals. The reaction could be of use for the oxidation of CC multiple bond systems (R = C6H5). (Figure Presented.)
