Abstract
A new control strategy has been presented for asynchronous speed drives. This strategy includes a direct control of the magnetic flux, performed in quadrature mode. The new law ensures the control of the flux components. A discrete Kalman and Bucy filter is used for flux estimation. Once the flux is controlled speed regulation has been implemented. In this case, the mode separation principle has been used by assuming that all of the electrical mode variables are already established. This control strategy has been tested by means of a pseudo-experimental technique, in which the processor TMS 32010 is used for control tasks and the whole process has been simulated by a personal computer. A very interesting and efficient procedure has been proposed for validating the control laws where robustness has been verified in case of abrupt parameter variations.
