Abstract
We present an analytical formalism investigating effects of multiple excitations with different dispersion parameters in the context of neutron resonance spin echo spectroscopy. This allows identifying conditions to obtain high-resolution information on the energy split of two dispersive modes which may differ or not in their local energy gradient. Comparison to experimental data is provided by recent measurements on magnon excitations in RbMnF 3. Potential future applications are investigations of hybridized phonon or magnon modes or mixed excitations.
