Abstract

Transnational corporations and non-governmental organizations have a growing influence on traditional subjects of international law as well as on the development of international legal norms and their implementation. This volume, which emerged from the workshop of the same name organized by the Working Group of Young International Law Scholars, takes account of the need for an evaluation of the legal framework. The contributions deal with various topics of the international law discourse on new actors, evaluate the current state of opinion and develop possible solutions. The thematic focus of the volume is on the legal problems associated with human rights violations by transnational corporations. In addition to fundamental considerations, problems in the area of investment protection law and United Nations law are also addressed.
