Abstract
Modern laser-based machining processes fully exploit the dynamic limits of current laser scanners. In some cases, the process requirements significantly exceed the capabilities of speed and accuracy. A new mathematical model of the scanner components can establish a basis for higher model-based control structures, which in turn improve the system dynamics.
