Abstract
Reaction of tetrachloroauric(III) acid hydrate with dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (dcc) in dichloromethane in the presence of equimolar amounts of triethylamine leads to a complex reaction mixture. One of the components was shown by X-ray crystallography to be |(N, N', N"-tricyclohexyl)-N"-cyclohexylcarbamoylguanidinium] tetrachloroaurate(III) (1) which contains as a cation the addition product of dec with the corresponding urea.
