Abstract
An experiment for measuring x-rays from muon transfer from deuterium to helium was described. The use of charge-coupled device (CCD) detectors allowed x-rays from 1.5 keV to 11 keV to be detected with sufficient energy resolution to separate the transitions to different final states in both deuterium and helium. It was stated that the large CCD surface resulted in an increased solid angle and better statistics when compared with respect to traditional Ge or Si(Li) detectors.
