Abstract

The presented project ProNaHo consists of catchment and event dependent process based modelling of natural and distributed flood protection measures. Thereby, distributed uncontrolled retention basins, land use and tillage changes, restoration of rivers, as well as beaver dams are considered. To achieve general statements about the catchment dependent effectives of these measures, four characteristical catchments, which cover the different natural regions of Bavaria, were chosen. The first modelling results enable the establishment of different hypotheses about the relevant processes and the effectiveness of single and combined measures. These hypotheses should be verified in the course of the project.
