Abstract
Conventional software systems for production planning and control record in particular the information processes that accompany physical material flows; however, they do not provide any direct support for solving the actual problems relating to logistical planning. This gap is being filled by modern software tools especially developed with the complex terms of reference of supply chain management in mind.
