Abstract
A new control method for converter actuators is suggested. It is called, 'model of control', since a microcomputer calculates from the desired of setpoint(s) the actual value(s) for a given plant. The calculation of the actual value is additionally carried out for the next switching state, i. e. prior to the actual switching instant of the valves of the converter actuator. From a comparison of the actual curve of the existing switching state (actual value) and the pre-computed desired curve of the actual value at the next switching state the next optimal switching instant is determined. By this method the influences of static and dynamic nonlinearities of the actuator are eliminated. The new control method is demonstrated using the example of current control of a line-controlled converter. Additionally, results in the control of self-controlled converters to feed three-phase asynchronous motors are shown.
