Abstract

This work presents a formalism based on Petri nets to model, to simulate and to analyze hybrid systems. This formalism is named Differential Hybrid Petri Nets (DHPNs). The formalism proposed incorporates the main elements of the semantics of the hybrid automaton and the expressiveness of the Petri nets. This formalism is applied to model the energy consumption of a sensor node for a wireless sensor network. The proposed modeling approach is quite general and can be applied to other classes of hybrid systems.
