Abstract

This paper introduces model reduction techniques based on various methods known from mechanical engineering that are used in calculation for structural analysis. These techniques are applied to electrical machines reducing the number of degrees of freedom and, hence, computation time for transient analysis. It further introduces magnetic superelements for the stator and the rotor of these machines and combines them with suitable coupling methods from literature.
