Abstract
In this work, we present the operation of a 515 nm (green) enhancement cavity driven by a frequency-doubled pulsed 65 MHz Yb:YAG laser, with a focus on mode matching and Pound–Drever–Hall (PDH) synchronization. Such cavities are of particular relevance for next-generation inverse Compton scattering (ICS) sources, where the shorter wavelength enables the generation of higher-energy X-rays. We characterize the laser source to determine suitable mode matching conditions, implement these conditions in an optical setup, and demonstrate successful synchronization of the cavity with the laser system.
