Abstract

Methyl N-(benzyl-oxycarbonyl)oxamate, was synthesized by oxidation it with RuO₂/NaIO₄. The molecular packing of C₁₁H ₁₁NO₅ was also investigated. This compound was found to be almost planar, and the molecules were found to be packed as hydrogen-bonded dimers. All torsion angles excluding H atoms were found to be close to either 0 or 180°.
