Abstract

Experimental methods were developed for investigating and quantifying the hydrodynamic behaviour of fermentor broths during liquid-liquid extraction. Procedures for determining sedimentation behaviour of single drops, sedimentation velocity and coalescence behaviour of drop swarms and entrainment are described. (P.M.T.)
