Abstract

A methodical approach and description tools for the efficient assessment of variable specifications of automated vehicles during the development process are presented. Crucial Parts such as scenarios, system boundaries and behavior are modeled based on a formal description of relevant scenario aspects. Through the integration of assessment models for safety, customer benefit and costs the influence of design decision can be estimated efficiently. Exemplary assessment results of an autonomous highway system illustrate the approach.
