Abstract

The evaluation of the risks of automated driving functions during early development challenges actual risk assessment methods. An approach for efficient model-based risk estimation for automated driving functions is presented. A framework and formal representation to model the interactions between the behavior of automated vehicles, relevant scenarios and potential risk are illustrated in detail. Results of the usage for a real function development as well as an exemplary risk assessment are shown.
