Abstract

The vitality of living cells can be monitored by means of automated sensor chips. The combination of easily accessible parameters like the pH value, the concentration dissolved oxygen, and the bioimpedance helps to understand the cell metabolism. Such sensor devices have applications e. g. in cancer therapy, drug research, or environmental monitoring.
