Abstract
The mesoscopic relaxation in supercooled liquids for temperatures near the crossover temperature, Tc, is described within the mode coupling theory by a two-parameter scaling law. It deals with the interplay of the cage effect and phonon assisted hopping events. The dynamics for frequencies above the α-relaxation rate and below the microscopic excitation band are characterized by two relevant control parameters. The various features of the susceptibility spectra and relaxation curves are discussed.
