Abstract

Multiple Bonds between Main‐Group Elements and Transition Metals, CII¹. — Volatile MN₄ Metal Complexes of Niobium and Tantalum Containing Dimethylsilyl Substituents Niobium and tantalum complexes 4a and 4b of formula (Me₂SiH)N=M[N(SiHMe₂)₂]₃ (a: M=Nb; b: M=Ta) are formed from lithium bis(dimethylsilyl)amide and either MOCl₃ (2a,b) or MCl₅ (3a,b). No β‐hydrogen decomposition of these compounds occurs under normal conditions.
