Abstract
For patients with chronic and lifestyle-induced diseases, medical apps can be applied for a self-determined therapy management. Disabled persons are offered specific support via user-friendly and accessible medical apps. Furthermore, medical apps have the potential to overcome gaps in coverage, especially in less favored regions. A regulatory framework was established by legal requirements for a reasonable integration of medical apps in a treatment plan. Principles of medical liability are comparable to prescriptions of other medical devices.
