Abstract
Within mechanical engineering mechatronic systems become increasingly important, as well as resource-efficient lightweight designs. Looking together on both aspects leads to the question: are mechatronic systems able to support lightweight design? Therefore a new integral design and simulation process is needed, including new simulation methods. This paper presents an approach of using modal correction methods to bring mechatronic and lightweight design close together.
