Abstract

The influence of the intercritical annealing temperature, the cooling rate after the intercritical annealing and the overaging parameters on the mechanical properties, the microstructure and the transformation behavior of an aluminium alloyed TRIP-steel is investigated in detail. The austenite formation kinetics during intercritical annealing is studied by means of quantitative analyses of the microstructure and thermodynamical calculations. Microstructure investigations (light microscopy and TEM), dilatometric measurements and the mechanical properties are used to clarify the transformation behavior of the austenite during cooling and isothermal holding.
