Magnetization and pressure study of 3He in fast compressions in high fields

Abstract

Magnetization and pressure have been measured during fast compressional cooling of 3He in high fields. At the A2 superfluid transition, the rate of growth of magnetization increases, continuing until the pressure backstep reported by Schuberth et al. These results support the suggestion of underpolarized solid produced in fast compressions.
