Abstract

In vitro lymphocyte transformation studies in 19 patients suffering from anaphylactoid reactions after dextran infusions and in 30 normal healthy volunteers showed no mitogenic effect of dextran 60 (Macrodex) or of dextran 40 (Rheomacrodex) at concentrations between 2 × 10^-4 and 3 × 10^-9 M.
