Abstract
In this paper a comparison of accuracy of three linear modeling approaches for bolted joints is presented by means of a test rig. The investigated degree of the model's abstraction entails varying modeling costs and also influences the accuracy of the results. Based on this knowledge, the user can decide on the best modeling approach to meet the requirements of each application. Copyright Springer-VDI-Verlag GmbH & Co. KG, Düsseldorf.
