Abstract

Pb2 molecules are produced by YAG laser vaporization of solid lead. The molecules are entrained in a stream of cold (∼77 K) He gas, and the laser-induced fluorescence spectra recorded. Two different electronic transitions are observed, the "red" C(Ou+) ↔ X(Og+) and the "blue" F(Ou+) ↔ X(Og+) systems. A detailed vibrational and rotational analysis is performed for both systems.
