Abstract

The electronic spectrum of the CFBr free radical was recorded using a technique combining dc discharge with pulsed supersonic expansion cooling of the products. An analysis of the fluorescence excitation spectrum reveals that the T0 origin of the spectrum lies near 20906 cm-1, more than 1200 cm-1 lower than previously reported. The upper state vibrational frequencies ω′1 = 1140, ω′2 = 340, ω′3 = 645 cm-1 are identified, and the structure of the molecule is discussed.
