Abstract
Complexes of the Lanthanides, V1.–Structural Chemistry of Monomeric and Dimeric Rare Earth Alkoxides The first sublimable monomeric yttrium „CH‐alkoxide” Y[OC‐(iPr)(tBu)2]3 (3) is obtained by the reaction of „CH‐alcohol” HOCiPr(tBu)2 („H‐proditox”, 1) with Y[N(SiMe3)2]3 (2). The importance of metal‐ion size and ligand sphere for nucleation is demonstrated for the system „Ln/ditox/acetonitrile”. The crystal structure data of dimeric 4 (Ln=Nd) and monomeric 5 (Ln=Dy) once again support the ionic nature of lanthanide alkoxide complexes.
