Abstract
The efficiency of decentralized production structures is to a great extent determined by the way in which order processing is implemented within these structures. On the one hand, a reasonable amount of part-autonomy should be provided for and on the other hand the units should be oriented towards a common corporate optimum. The following paper describes an approach to coordinating order processing with the aid of operations-supportive process simulation.
