Abstract
In a 32-year old male patient suffering from lower leg eczema, the skin condition deteriorated under treatment with topical hydrocortisone-17-butyrate and fusidic acid. Patch testing revealed a positive reaction to hydrocortisone-17-butyrate and fusidic acid after 48 and 72 hours; no reaction was observed to the ointment base and its ingredients.
