Abstract
Two systematic procedures were used for reaching a formal consensus on "opioids and non-tumor pain". 70 experts from the German chapter of the International Association for the Study of Pain participated in a 3-stage Delphi procedure; 32 of the experts took part in the final consensus conference. The paper describes developmental aspects and the results of the consensus process.
