Abstract
With a view to the rapid economic and technological developments, occupational skill requirements in manufacturing are constantly changing, calling for a greater focus on competency development in a dynamic production environment. This article describes two learning situations in assembly areas with different levels of automation, as examined in the context of a project at the IFF (University of Stuttgart), the iwb (TU Munich) and the PTW (TU Darmstadt).
