Abstract
Colorectal diseases in childhood primarily include congenital anorectal malformations (ARM) and Hirschsprung’s disease. These are congenital diseases of varying phenotypes, sometimes associated with complex accompanying pathologies. Children with colorectal problems should be treated in specialized pediatric surgical centers, which also have experience with intensive postoperative follow-up treatment and interdisciplinary care. In addition to the best possible long-term continence, the aim of the therapy is also to achieve the normal psychosocial development of these children.
