Abstract

The use of hypermedia techniques in agriculture is analyzed in view of its possibilities to make access to knowledge and information more comprehensible, and to accelerate and disseminate their transfer. A survey of hypermedia applications in agriculture is provided and the characteristics of such systems are reviewed in terms of information structure, contents, system architecture, user information browsing and support. Requirements, future possibilities, and limitations are finally discussed.
