Abstract

In order to investigate the temperature dependence of electrochemical behavior in aqueous electrolytes one is normally bound to a temperature range of approximately 100K. On the absolute temperature scale, the change in temperature is only about 30%, which cannot be considered large enough for serious conclusions from such investigations. Therefore, the authors exceeded the freezing point of the electrolyte in order to extend the available temperature range to lower temperatures. The results will be discussed in terms of current theories in electrochemistry.
