Abstract
The emergence of pathological signs in the heart during the treatment of Hodgkin's disease raises problems of the differential diagnosis and of differential therapy. First of all the involvement of the heart in the basic disease comes up for discussion. Secondly a chronic derangement of volume or pressure, as, for instance, caused by anemia or rise of pulmonary pressure in tumor infiltration, must be thought of; and, thirdly, iatrogenic damage from radiotherapy and/or cytostatics. Fourthly, a heart affection may have existed independently previous to the basic disease, or it may have originated during the courses of the latter.
