Abstract

Carbon disulfide reacts with malonodinitrile in the presence of HIr(PPhMe₂)₄ to give [H₂Ir(PPhMe₂)₄]⁺[HS(S)CC(CN)₂]^- (1. The structure revealed by an X-ray diffraction study is consistent with the presence of SH⋯S bonding.
