Abstract

The introduction and background information regarding the surface plasmon resonance phenomenon including the long–range surface plasmon polariton (LRSPP) effect are discussed in this chapter. The theoretical approaches used for representing the optical properties like Drude’s and Sellmeier’s relationships are also discussed.
