Abstract

The weighted sum-rate maximization problem for a wireless cellular MIMO network with full-duplex base stations and half-duplex mobile devices is considered. Apart from self-interference at full-duplex capable nodes, these systems additionally suffer from interference between neighboring base stations and between mobile devices, yielding a difficult non-convex sum-rate optimization problem. We propose to use interference shaping to decouple the sum-rate problem into independent subproblems and derive an algorithm to solve these problems for each base station locally for a large variety of shaping constraints. We numerically show that by our approach, performance can be improved significantly compared to corresponding half-duplex systems.
