Abstract

The increasing challenge to manufacture individual products in short periods of time makes a huge amount of machine and plant variants necessary. To manage this variability adequately, a concept for reusing engineering documentation is necessary that takes into account the disciplines participating in the engineering process. In this article, the necessary building blocks for an interdisciplinary product line approach are presented, which take into consideration the customers' view on the machine.
