Abstract
The Windows Vista Enterprise and Ultimate editions use Bitlocker Drive Encryption, which encrypts all data on the system volume. The important part of Bitlocker algorithm is the AES-CBC + Elephant diffuser encryption algorithm. Four tests were run on the cipher to examine the the strength of AES-CBC + Elephant. The ability of reducing the number of runs of Diffuser A and Diffuser B to increase performance was studied. Speeding up encryption using parallelization is possible with the widespread use of dual-core processors. The performance of the AES-CBC + Elephant diffuser and the proposed AES-ECB + Elephant diffuser on a single processor was studies. It was observed that the cipher possesses good diffusion properties that can reduce manipulation attacks.
