Abstract

The “SKAIO” timber-hybrid building in Heilbronn. Germany's first high-rise apartment block in a timber-hybrid form of construction has been built on the grounds of the 2019 Federal Garden Show in Heilbronn. “SKAIO” is the model for future building and living standards. The 2019 Federal Garden Show took place on the banks of the River Neckar in Heilbronn. Apart from displays of plants and flowers, the show was, first and foremost, an urban development program for Heilbronn. Neckarbogen is a new city district that was built as a result of the show's housing program. “SKAIO” is a 34 m high, 10-storey timber-hybrid structure that points the way forward for innovative architecture and future building methods.
