Abstract
Research strategies in engineering innovative biomaterials and parts made from biomaterials mainly take into account the development of: metal free load transmitting implants, scaffolds incorporating cells or tissues and respecting minimal lesion surgical application, and biomaterials for personal application by the patient. In this regard, the paper presents carbon fiber reinforced osteosynthesis devices, non-degradable ceramic cell carriers and possible consumer biomaterial applications.
