Abstract

The paper investigates the influence of correlation properties of spreading sequences on the sum capacity of CDMA channel, in which all users are in exact synchronism at their transmitters but the signals pass through multipath channels with small delay spread and one strong path. It is shown that if spreading sequences have favorable periodic correlation properties, the sum capacity can be maximized at the expense of the sequence length when the power is uniformly distributed over the paths.
