Abstract

In this paper the implementation of Kogbetliantz's SVD algorithm using orthonormal /i rotations is presented. An orthonormal /i rotation is a rotation by an angle of a given set of /x rotation angles (e.g. the angles <T»t = arctan2 7) which are choosen such that the rota tion can be implemented by a small amount of shift add operations. All computations (evaluation and applica tion of the rotations) can entirely be referred to or thonormal /i rotations. Simulations show the reduced computational complexity of Kogbetliantz's SVD algo rithm based 011 orthonormal /i rotations compardcd t|o the standard Kogbetliantz SVD algorithm.
