Abstract

In order to meet the growing challenges regarding aspects of e. g. product quality and pricing pressure, the suitability of established production technologies need to be continuously evaluated. Methods to support the timely, systematic identification of technological need for action, in particular against the background of longterm cyclical products, are rare. This approach presents a practicable procedure for classifying and evaluating established manufacturing resources and technologies.
